Playground Games has confirmed Forza Horizon 6 has gone gold, with preloads now live on Xbox Series X/S and PC (Windows Store). File sizes clock in at roughly 130GB for Series S, 135GB for Series X, and 160GB on PC.

The real draw this time is the soundtrack. The studio promises the largest tracklist in series history across 9 radio stations, including new additions like Gacha City Radio. A racing game lives or dies by its music—hit Tokyo's streets with the right track in your ears and the immersion clicks into place. That's not theory; it's proven design.

The Japanese band lineup delivers. BABYMETAL, BAND-MAID, and ONE OK ROCK are confirmed, alongside veterans like Rise Against and Linkin Park. It recalls the golden era of Need for Speed, when rock soundtracks turned street races into adrenaline rituals. Domestic racing titles still lag behind on music licensing—hopefully they're taking notes.

The 160GB install is a barrier, though. Storage space, download times, bandwidth—each one filters out players with tighter setups. At least preloading opened early, giving everyone until the May 19 launch to sort it out. For series veterans, the Japan setting plus the biggest soundtrack yet shows real commitment. New players should check their hard drive first—nostalgia doesn't compress.
