Let me start with the most surprising piece of news: the Bloodborne remake was rejected — and Sony isn't to blame.

Bloodborne Remake Rejected — FromSoftware Is the Real Culprit
According to IGN citing Bloomberg, Bluepoint Games (the studio behind the Shadow of the Colossus and Demon's Souls remakes) pitched a Bloodborne remake internally last year, only to have FromSoftware shoot it down outright.

For years, players assumed Sony was the one blocking the project. But insiders say Sony was actually open to a remake. The one who said "no" was FromSoftware itself.
Interestingly, Hidetaka Miyazaki previously deflected questions about a remake in 2024 by citing "the company doesn't own the IP" — which sounded like a veiled nod toward Sony. Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida offered a different read: Miyazaki loves Bloodborne so much that he doesn't want anyone else touching it, and PlayStation has respected his wishes.

FromSoftware is currently developing a new vampire-themed title, The Duskbloods, for Switch 2. Bluepoint's subsequent proposals — an updated Shadow of the Colossus and a Ghost of Tsushima spinoff — were both turned down by Sony. According to Bloomberg, companies have approached Sony about acquiring Bluepoint, with no confirmed outcome.
The future of Bloodborne will probably have to wait until Miyazaki himself has a change of heart.
Pokémon Starters Revealed, Fans Beg: Please Don't Make the Houndour Stand Up

Pokémon Wind/Wave officially revealed its starter Pokémon last night, but one of the hottest topics among fans had little to do with the game itself — they're pleading with Game Freak: whatever you do, don't make the new fire starter stand up.
The meme traces back to Litten.

Adorable little kitten, then after three evolutions — it turned into this:

Every time a new game is announced, Incineroar gets dragged back out for another round of mockery. When Sprigatito debuted in Scarlet/Violet, fans immediately started worrying —

Luckily, Sprigatito evolved into Meowscarada, which didn't disappoint. Whether Wind/Wave's new fire puppy can escape the same fate depends entirely on how Game Freak designs its evolution line.

The Witcher 4 Technical Details Leak: 80 Base Animations, Console-First Development

The AnsweRED Podcast has leaked a number of technical details about The Witcher 4.
The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 with a fully upgraded motion capture system. The animation team developed a "locomotion system" featuring over 80 base movement animations, specifically designed to address the stiff movement issues from The Witcher 3 and give characters a greater sense of weight.
As for Ciri, her role as a "Source mage" lets her cast spells while moving — no more standing still to use abilities. The game also introduces a dedicated jump button and underwater swimming, which should add significant verticality to exploration. Combat animations have been sped up roughly 20% from their real-world performance captures, and Boss fights have dedicated animators assigned to them.
On the open world side, the team emphasized NPC diversity to avoid model repetition, while enhancing environmental interaction and social dynamic responses.
The earliest release window is sometime after 2027. There are also rumors that The Witcher 3 may receive a final DLC in May 2026 to bridge the narrative between the two games. An official marketing push for The Witcher 4 may kick off around Unreal Fest in June 2026.
Worth noting: the development is taking a "console-first" approach — the developers said so themselves, while also taking a subtle jab at Cyberpunk 2077 in the process.
