やぶから堂 announced Go! Cheer Rhythm, an all-ages motion-controlled fitness rhythm action game, on X on August 9, alongside an introduction trailer/PV. The game is headed to PC via Steam, and its Steam store page is already live. Players take the role of a "teacher" coaching high school student 肉仓色羽 through cheerleading dance practice, aiming to help the sports club turn its results around with a stronger performance.

Even a stern teacher can master this with enough practice, the cheerful character assures, adding a heart symbol for emphasis.

This is not a sit-down rhythm game about clicking in time. Go! Cheer Rhythm wants players on their feet, swinging their arms along with the beat. The loop is simple: teach Iroha, drill the routine, and help the team turn things around through a polished cheer performance. It is also easy to imagine the premise landing better on streams than in screenshots.

Two-handed motion control is the central gimmick. The game supports motion controllers in both hands, with the developer specifically recommending Joy-Con / Joy-Con 2. In practice, that means players are not just watching the character dance. They are matching the rhythm with their own movements. On paper, that makes it a rhythm game with a light workout attached.

The appeal is not purely mechanical. Iroha is designed by illustrator 朝凪, and the in-game character animation is presented through Live2D. Voice actor 陽向葵ゅか voices Iroha, with more than 600 lines recorded for the game. One teased line has Iroha refusing to "face reality" before needling the player, which makes the interaction angle very clear.

The player achieved a maximum combo of 529 in this rhythm game, with zero misses and a score of 23,097,383, earning an S rank.

The positioning is easy to read. Motion fitness games sell the act of moving. Rhythm games sell timing and feel. Go! Cheer Rhythm adds Iroha's character presentation on top, so it is not aiming squarely at serious workout players. It looks more targeted at players who want to move while playing, and who also care about character performance and presentation.

The next meaningful test is whether it works in public. Go! Cheer Rhythm is planned for the 2026 Tokyo Game Show indie game area at ターンキーブース 09-C10, running from September 17 to 21, where limited goods will also be distributed. The full release is currently expected in 2027, so for now, wishlisting it on Steam and waiting to see how the motion detection feels in practice is the sensible move.
