"Grave Keeper" is free to claim! This deal is even better value than ordering takeout.
Saturday afternoon, I finally turned on my PC. I originally just wanted to casually check Steam, but this wave of free giveaways stopped me first. Recently, both Graveyard Keeper and LivingForest have become available to claim for free. For weekend players like us, news like this feels more worthwhile than a discount. After all, it’s not just saving a few yuan—it’s saving actual cash outright, like grabbing a free-order coupon during a lunch break.

First, the most worthwhile one: the claim page for Graveyard Keeper lists its original price as 76 yuan. It’s the kind of medieval pixel-art game that mixes simulation management, role-playing, and resource management together, but the tone isn’t exactly light and pastoral—it leans more toward dark humor. You play as a modern person who accidentally travels back to the Middle Ages, takes over the management of a graveyard, and earns money and reputation by processing corpses, running the cemetery, and researching alchemy, with the ultimate goal of finding a way home.

In terms of time investment, Graveyard Keeper isn’t the kind of game that gives you instant fun in five minutes. It’s more like tidying up your room on the weekend: at first it feels like there’s a lot to deal with, but once you get the loop sorted out, it becomes more and more addictive. If you usually enjoy management, farming, and resource planning, picking this up for free comes with basically no mental burden; but if all you want is to blow off steam with a couple of quick matches after work, it may not be the most time-efficient choice.
The other game, LivingForest, is listed at an original price of 62 yuan on its claim page, and it’s a survival adventure shooter. The gameplay is more straightforward: go into the forest, pick up weapons, fight zombies and soldiers, use axes, pistols, and other firearms, and also gather resources and food along the way to build structures. It also includes a mission system. The basic idea is familiar to most people—it belongs to the kind of game with a relatively low barrier to entry, and one you can jump into for a couple of rounds even in fragmented free time.

That said, the two games are “worth it” in different ways. Graveyard Keeper is more like an all-you-can-eat buffet that lasts a long time, provided you’re willing to spend time slowly digesting it; LivingForest, on the other hand, is like a ready-to-eat convenience store meal—you can open it and dig right in, and the feedback comes faster. From the perspective of an office worker, I’d suggest claiming them first no matter what, because the event ends before April 14, and quantities are limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Besides, adding them to your library doesn’t require overtime.

If you only plan to pick one to start with this week, I’d personally break it down like this: if you like management and progression systems and can accept a slow-burn pace, start with Graveyard Keeper; if you want more direct combat and a collection loop, try LivingForest first. The two games add up to 138 yuan at full price, and now they’re free to claim, so there’s really no need to do the value-for-money math anymore. For players short on time and tight on budget, this kind of free library boost really is far more reliable than blindly buying a new release.
