GTA6 protagonist’s home may have been uncovered as the starter area surfaces
With GTA 6 moving toward its November 19 release date, the fan-made interactive map project State of Leonida says it has narrowed down Jason Duval's home. The claim is based on footage from the game's second trailer, plus screenshots and official Rockstar material, as the community tries to reconstruct the full shape of Leonida before launch.
The latest clue comes from the opening pullback shot of Jason's house in the second GTA 6 trailer. Fans have been breaking down the surrounding streets, road angles, nearby scenery, and vegetation frame by frame, then comparing those details with real Florida roads, coastlines, vegetation, and buildings.

On the current fan map, the suspected location is marked as Key Lento. It sits on the eastern side of the Leonida Keys, close to the southern end of the map. If that reading is correct, the choice would fit Rockstar's usual approach: Jason would not begin under Vice City's neon, but in a quieter, more isolated island community, away from the city's bustle.
That reading has led some fans to treat Key Lento almost like a starting village. The idea is that players may first learn Jason's immediate world, his routines, and his local surroundings before the story pushes them toward denser, more dangerous parts of Leonida.

A related theory goes further. Some in the community think GTA 6 may initially limit exploration, gating off places like Vice City until the story advances. That structure would not be unusual for an open-world game. It gives the designers a way to manage pacing and avoid dumping the full city and its systems on players too early.
If Key Lento really is the starting point, it may be doing more than teaching the basics. It could also establish the first piece of Jason and Lucia's story before the game widens into the wider criminal world of Leonida.

The caveat matters: none of this has been confirmed by Rockstar. The State of Leonida map is a community reconstruction built from trailers, screenshots, and official material, not an official guide. Rockstar has a long history of reshaping real-world landmarks inside fictional spaces, breaking apart familiar roads, bays, and buildings before reassembling them into something new.
So the final version of Leonida may differ from the fan map in meaningful ways. For now, treat this kind of detective work as informed speculation: enjoy the community puzzle, but do not mistake it for the official walkthrough you will need on November 19.
