GTA 6 Preorders Include 1 Month of GTA+ but Don’t Claim It Yet

According to Gamersky, players who pre-order the digital version of GTA6 on PSN or the Microsoft Store can claim 1 month of GTA+. The offer must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and once the free period ends, the subscription will auto-renew. The offer is simple enough. So is the catch.

The bigger point is not the bonus itself, but how it is structured: one free month up front, then a paid subscription later unless you switch it off yourself. At least the terms are clearly spelled out. To claim it, players need to visit the GTA+ product page on the relevant storefront and follow the on-screen prompts. More importantly, even if you cancel auto-renew immediately after claiming it, you still keep the full 30 days of free membership.

Rockstar knows how to keep players inside its ecosystem, and this offer fits the pattern. Before GTA6 is even in players' hands, GTA+ serves as an early nudge toward GTA Online and the classic games library. The membership includes 500,000 GTA$ every month for GTA Online, a 15% Shark Card bonus, access to the Vehicle Club, and a catalog that includes Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption, and Bully. For players already invested in Rockstar's online ecosystem, that is a useful set of extras.

The problem is that plenty of people will see "free" and assume that is the end of it. It is not. After the first month, GTA+ renews automatically, and on both PlayStation and Xbox you need to disable that manually in the subscription settings. On PS, the path is Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions. On Xbox, it is Xbox button > Profile & system > Settings > Account > Subscriptions. From there, find GTA+ and cancel the subscription or turn off recurring billing. The process is simple, but subscriptions are easy to forget about.

The practical advice is simple: if you are pre-ordering GTA6 mainly for the day-one single-player experience, there is no reason to claim GTA+ right away. With a redemption deadline of March 31, 2027, there is plenty of room to wait until you actually plan to spend time in GTA Online or check out the classic library. That way, you do not waste the 30-day window when you are too busy to use it.

If you are already a regular online player, the month is genuinely useful, especially the 500,000 GTA$ per month and the 15% Shark Card bonus. But if you only want to sample the offer, the most important step is to turn off auto-renew afterward. The freebie is real, and so is the chance of being charged later.
