Old God Freyr Hits PS5 Store With Colossus Climbing and Beast Battles
According to GamerSky on August 26, 2026, the PS5 store page for Ancient God: Feng Lixi, a Chinese creation-myth ARPG, has officially gone live. The listing also confirms PS5 Pro enhancement. Built in Unreal Engine 5, the game casts players as Lingzhuzi, the first living being created by Nuwa from earth, water, and fire.
The listing is useful, but just as notable is what it leaves out. For players hoping to bring friends along, the important detail is missing: the store page does not mention a multiplayer mode. For a game selling such large-scale mythological spectacle, that absence matters. A single-player action RPG can absolutely work, but if your ideal version of this kind of game involves coordinated supers and shared chaos, this one is not promising that yet.
The combat pitch has a lot going on, and at least on paper that is not a bad thing. Ancient God: Feng Lixi lists spell combat, dual stances, Huaxuan, and divine artifact abilities as core parts of its system. That suggests an ARPG trying to give players multiple systems to juggle instead of leaning on one basic attack rhythm. The clearest differentiator is scale: players can climb across the bodies of giant gods in combat, then use the power of Kuafu to ascend the sky-reaching Fusang tree.

The transformation system leans into the same spectacle. By using Huaxuan, players can take on the form of legendary deities and unleash dedicated EX skills. The hook is easy to read: the game wants its mythological figures to be more than lore entries or boss names. It wants them to become combat forms, power spikes, and short bursts of playable power.

The developers frame that ambition directly. According to the team, they have long admired the stories of Nuwa mending the heavens and Hou Yi shooting down the suns, describing those mythic figures as names preserved in ancient books, faint figures on murals, and legends passed down through time yet still difficult to grasp directly. That framing points to a clear goal. This is not being pitched as a generic fantasy skin; it is trying to turn Chinese creation myth into playable action spectacle.

Artifacts fill out the same fantasy. Players can collect legendary items such as the Hou Yi Bow and the Banana Leaf Fan, then use them to trigger fusion techniques. On paper, that gives the combat another layer tied directly to the mythology: not just changing form, but combining divine tools into fusion attacks. If the final game makes those abilities feel as distinct as they sound, the system could amount to more than a list of famous names.

For now, though, this is still only a store-page update. Ancient God: Feng Lixi has a live PS5 listing, confirmed PS5 Pro enhancement, and an Unreal Engine 5 tech base, but no release date or price has been announced. If Chinese mythology is the draw, wishlist it, then wait for more gameplay footage. If co-op is the deciding factor, wait for an official multiplayer confirmation before getting too attached.
