Naughty Dog reveals female lead for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, PS5 exclusive in 2027

Tati Gabrielle, lead actress in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, says Naughty Dog's world-building approach for this project is "completely different" from past work. The game launches exclusively on PlayStation 5 in 2027.

Compared to The Last of Us or Uncharted, Naughty Dog went full sci-fi this time—lightsabers, robots, space stations. Gabrielle mentioned the team "really challenged themselves" building this universe. The TGA 2024 reveal trailer shows unfamiliar territory, far from the studio's usual post-apocalyptic ruins or treasure-hunting adventures.

The production roster keeps growing. Jason Hill, former Blizzard cinematics director, joined as cutscene director; Tony Dalton (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul) confirmed his casting in May 2025. Sony's first-party studios have doubled down on narrative-driven games lately—Santa Monica and Guerrilla both have projects in the works—and Naughty Dog's hardcore sci-fi setting carves out distinct space from its sibling studios.

A 2027 PS5-exclusive release matters. God of War Ragnarök shipped cross-gen, which capped its visual ceiling; Naughty Dog dropping PS4 support opens up more technical headroom. The only question is whether PS5 Pro becomes the baseline by then—over a year out, install base and pricing could shift.

One thing's certain: Naughty Dog finally moved past "humanity's last survivors," and that alone makes this worth watching.
