Lords of the Fallen 2 has crossed 100,000 wishlists on Steam within one day of its store page going live, according to CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski. The publisher also confirmed that the sequel is due later this year on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. For a soulslike sequel whose predecessor drew a mixed response in 2023, that's a strong early signal.
Tyminski kept his wording measured. He said it is still too early to draw conclusions, but that the game has had a very strong start, and he thanked players for their trust. That caution makes sense. A wishlist spike is only an early indicator, not a result, but it still suggests Lords of the Fallen 2 has attracted serious attention before its full marketing push begins in earnest.
That matters because this series is not starting from a blank slate. The first Lords of the Fallen, released in 2023, received a mixed response. Many players had clear complaints at the time about combat feel, movement feedback, and performance. So the sequel arrives with a built-in challenge: not just to build on the original, but to prove it can address those problems.

To CI Games' credit, it hasn't treated the first game's launch as the end of the work. Since the original release, the team says it has worked closely with the community and shipped more than 70 updates. Over the past two years, the game added shared-progression co-op, a free Friend's Pass, and a dedicated jump button, while also reworking its combat and movement systems, expanding character customization options, and continuing to improve performance and balance.
None of that guarantees every player who dropped the first game will return for the sequel. But it does send a clear message: the studio has shown a willingness to keep fixing and refining the game over the long term rather than walking away after release.
For Lords of the Fallen 2, that's the real thing to watch. More than broad promises about scope, the sequel needs to deliver on the basics that action RPG players feel from moment to moment: responsiveness, combat feel, performance stability, and co-op quality. CI Games has also said that its commitment to the community will remain central during development, and that player feedback will continue shaping the sequel's features, improvements, and overall experience. For skeptical players, that carries more weight than broad ambition alone, because those 70-plus updates aren't hypothetical. The studio already shipped them.

The practical takeaway is simple: wishlist Lords of the Fallen 2 if you're interested, then watch closely for future gameplay footage and pre-launch performance details before deciding on a day-one purchase. If you played the first game and care about systems like shared-progression co-op or a Friend's Pass, this sequel is one to watch. But if launch-state polish is your top concern, the safer move is still to wait for critic reviews and broader player impressions after release.
Crossing 100,000 wishlists means the game already has attention. Whether it can turn that attention into trust will be decided when it actually launches later this year on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
