After Lost Soul 1.103 goes live, is it worth jumping back in for another run?

Lost Soul has rolled out its major 1.103 update on PS5 and PC, adding the new “Dragon” cosmetic series while delivering broad system tweaks and a dense batch of fixes across combat, level flow, cutscenes, and PC interaction. The core focus is clear: better post–first playthrough unlocks and smoother control feel.

What stood out first was not raw numbers, but visual presence. In the new build, character silhouettes under cool lighting look cleaner and more deliberate, the kind of image quality that makes you stop and watch for a minute. The new Dragon set gives photo-focused players a concrete reason to return: the Kazer outfit is sold in “Lena’s Shop,” while Fusion Burst and “Yao” form outfits only unlock for purchase after clearing the first run. Matching weapon skins are crafted in “Lena’s Workshop” using Phantom Cards. The unlock pace is not fast, but the progression layers are clearly structured.

Beyond looks, the quality-of-life changes matter more than they seem. You can now switch weapons with the controller D-pad, with behavior configurable in Options → Controls → Weapon Switch Mode. The autosave cap has been raised to keep the latest 6 autosaves. Story Mode now includes both a combat rating and chapter settlement rating screen, and Elite enemies plus Bosses now display names. These are not flashy patch-note headlines, but they make navigation, feedback, and reorientation during real play much easier.

Combat gets one especially practical buff: dual-gun attack power is increased by 15%. On top of that, camera buffering when aiming dual guns with lock-off has been removed, so handling feels more immediate—particularly for players who like mid-range spacing and tempo control. The patch also adds healing item rewards for defeating Elite enemies, while introducing the high-difficulty accessory “Contract of Arrogance,” available from the start in Lena’s Shop; one change restores margin for error, the other raises the challenge ceiling.

It also adds Lena’s “Meow” series cosmetics and 5 weapon attachment VFX skins, obtainable through purchase or synthesis. After completing the first run, “Cocoon Break” (the white-hair fused form cosmetic) unlocks, and Fusion Burst cosmetics can now be swapped independently.

More importantly, this update aggressively cleans up friction. It optimizes the Lena–Preparation menu interaction, improves consistency in advanced explanation text, and adjusts multiple level guides and trap placements. It also improves monster hit reactions, parts of cutscene lighting/animation/audio, and replaces pre-rendered video cutscenes with 60FPS versions. On the systems side, inventory and storage cap logic has been optimized so sell/synthesis limits are calculated from the combined backpack + warehouse capacity. The patch adds icon display for reshaped weapons/attachments and enables press-and-hold skip for stationary dialogue.

There are also targeted gameplay and stage adjustments: in the Divine Deer Palace arena orb mini-game, sprint is now mapped to the dodge button; the rotating laser platform mechanic in the Sacred Mountain Boundary on Hard has reduced difficulty. Phantom Card purchase limit in Lena’s Shop is increased to 300.

The general fix list is long: tutorial entry unlock issues, missing documents, crashes, scene loading problems, missing damage, charge interruption, UI stutter, Bosses leaving arenas, cosmetic display issues, cloth collision, and more. PC-specific fixes include the mouse being unable to select the “Skip Recap” popup, and a post-tutorial issue after the Deer God dual-gun tutorial where camera rotation could fail once dialogue ended.

If you were waiting on the sidelines, the recommendation is straightforward: players who already cleared one run get the best return by jumping back now, because post-clear cosmetic unlocks—including the white-hair Cocoon Break form—meaningfully expand character expression. New players can progress normally first, then try Contract of Arrogance after learning the systems. Version 1.103 is less a fireworks moment and more a full rework of the room’s edges; once the light hits, staying longer in Lost Soul feels easier.
