60 Million Sales! Is "Marvel's Spider-Man" the Top Superhero?

Take it with a grain of salt. Foreign media reported that this series has sold 60 million copies.

They say it's between 60 and 70 million. Sony hasn't given the nod yet.

If true, surpassing the "Batman: Arkham" series wouldn't be difficult. After all, Arkham City only sold around that much back in the day.

Those of us from the PS1 era have seen too many empty promises. Is this marketing campaign for real? Even big titles back in '08 didn't go this hard.

But "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" moved 2.5 million copies in the first 24 hours. Fastest in Sony's history. Can't really deny that speed.

Compared to that pile of movie adaptation trash, Insomniac didn't embarrass themselves this time. Where is "Marvel's Avengers" now? No one talks about it anymore.

"Independent series" means the game isn't a movie spin-off, which is important. Many just reskin and dare to charge high prices, but Insomniac is relatively honest.

But then again, high sales don't equal a masterpiece. To put it plainly, the gameplay is just fun enough.

The feel of web-swinging is smoother than the 2018 installment. Unlike some open worlds filled with map question marks forcing you to grind.

Our generation plays for the feel, not the stats. Back then, "God of War" didn't sell this much either, yet it was still a masterpiece.

Veteran players don't care about sales figures; they just hope the next installment isn't padded out for length. As long as they don't follow certain big studios in releasing half-baked products, this brand will remain stable.

The moment you put down the controller, the room is so quiet you can only hear the console fan. This kind of experience is more substantial than any sales figure.

After all, games are meant to be played, not bragged about. Hope it doesn't become the next annual release coerced by capital.
