Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will leave Early Access on September 2, 2026, Polish time, with its 1.0 version launching on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. It will also be the game's first release on consoles after nearly 8 months in Early Access, which began in November 2025.
Version 1.0 will add more than a final version number. After completing the main adventure, players will unlock the Infinite Endless Vault, a post-game challenge designed to give them a new long-term objective. Hardcore Mode will offer a higher-risk alternative with permanent death, making every dungeon expedition carry lasting consequences.

Early Access has already brought two substantial updates. Over nearly eight months, the developers released 2 major updates that added the Hexagonal Combat Route, Greedy Arena, and Slime Monster Pet Companions. Together, those additions expand route choices in combat and give players more defined goals for their builds.
The release materials frame Will's shop around a simple idea: “any successful business needs time to grow before it can truly prosper.” That remains a concise description of the series' core structure. Dungeon exploration creates risk, while shop management turns the rewards into progress. The question for version 1.0 is whether those two systems can keep producing meaningful strategic choices once the Infinite Endless Vault becomes the game's long-term focus.
The Xbox Series X|S version will join Game Pass at launch. Pre-orders are already available on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2, and demos are live across all platforms. For anyone still deciding whether to buy, trying the combat routes and shop-management loop in the demo is a better test than relying on marketing alone.
The original Moonlighter will also be available to claim for free on Steam for a limited time from August 5 to 9. It provides a quick introduction to the series' basic dungeon-and-shop loop, while Moonlighter 2 extends that structure with longer-term progression and higher-risk challenges.
Moonlighter 2 should interest players who enjoy indie games, value route planning, and are willing to live with costly failure. The September 2, 2026 launch will show whether its expanded systems can sustain that audience beyond the initial adventure.
