MUDANG: Two Hearts Developer EVRStudio Declared Bankrupt
MUDANG: Two Hearts, the Unreal Engine 5 stealth game from Korean developer EVRStudio, has effectively been shut down after Seoul Bankruptcy Court Division 11 declared the studio bankrupt on 2026-06-05. The project was originally planned for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026, but its development is now considered finished.

That is a real shame, because MUDANG: Two Hearts had a strong first impression. When it debuted at last year’s Xbox Games Showcase, it immediately stood out for its cold, deliberate stealth tone, the kind of game that could be discussed alongside Splinter Cell and Metal Gear Solid without feeling out of place. For players who grew up on that style of design, a demo like that can be enough to make the project feel worth watching.
The disappointment is less about one canceled game than about how familiar this pattern has become. Unreal Engine 5 can sell atmosphere, lighting, and polish, but it cannot solve scheduling, staffing, or budget problems for a team. In stealth games especially, every part has to hold together: level design, AI, mission pacing, combat feedback, and narrative rhythm. If any of those slips, the whole project starts to wobble.
MUDANG: Two Hearts was not just a flashy concept, either. Its setting on the Korean Peninsula, its mix of special-forces stealth assassinations, and its protection of K-Pop stars gave it a distinct identity. It was not leaning on another generic modern military template, and it was not trying to prop itself up with empty talk of futurism or apocalypse. The premise had enough local flavor and genre mix to stand out on its own.

Now that the bankruptcy ruling is public, there is very little room left for optimism. When a project simply goes quiet, players can still tell themselves it might be in development somewhere. A court ruling changes that. Unless there is some unusual restructuring, asset transfer, or another studio steps in, the game is no longer something to wait for in the normal sense.
For anyone who was following it, that is what makes this sting. People will remember the first reveal, the clear stealth identity, and the rare Korean setting, but the version that might have shipped on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2026 is now gone. What is left is the trailer-shaped memory of a game that looked promising, then stopped before it could become real.
