Red Dead RedemptionRed Dead Redemption Leaves the Catalog Soon, Don’t Miss It Before June 16
PlayStation Plus has updated its Last Chance to Play list, and Gamersky, citing the relevant PS Plus page, says at least four games will leave the PS Plus Extra and Premium catalog on June 16, 2026. The confirmed departures are Red Dead Redemption, LEGO The Incredibles, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition, and Katamari Damacy Reroll + Royal Reverie.
A quiet catalog update can look routine, but this is the part subscription libraries rarely let players forget: you do not own these games, only a platform-defined window to play them. The four titles confirmed so far do not serve the same audience or mood, and that is exactly what makes the lineup interesting. They are not all "must-plays" in the same way, yet together they show the broader value of a rotating library.

If you only read this as a removal notice, it is just another piece of service housekeeping. In narrative terms, though, Red Dead Redemption is clearly the one that deserves special attention. It still carries the feel of an old Western through to the end: dust, lateness, and people missing their moment in history. That quality has not faded with age. If anything, it feels more precious inside a fast-moving subscription catalog. The real problem is familiar: players keep works like this in the "later" pile until a removal notice turns up, and only then realize what is actually scarce is not games, but time to fully enter a story.

The other three should not be treated as filler. LEGO The Incredibles offers a lighter, family-friendly kind of storytelling. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition has the particular rhythm you expect from a comic-book adaptation. Katamari Damacy Reroll + Royal Reverie feels like an oversaturated animated short, wrapping its ideas in absurdity and charm. Together, they make the same point: the value of a subscription library is not just that it piles up big names, but that it briefly puts very different games on the same shelf, almost like a curated watchlist that can disappear as quickly as it appears.

There is also an important caveat. This list is only an early version, and based on Sony's usual rhythm, more games could still be added before the final update. In other words, June 16, 2026 may not be the departure date for only these four titles, but part of a removal slate that is not finished yet. For PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, the practical advice is simple: if you have been meaning to catch up on Red Dead Redemption, move it to the top of the queue. If you prefer lighter family-friendly or more stylized games, the other three are also worth prioritizing, because subscription services are at their least forgiving when they turn "later" into "too late."

As player communities usually do, this kind of exit notice will likely trigger a short, concentrated wave of last-minute catch-up play and renewed debate over what deserves limited time first. My view is straightforward: if you care more about story, characters, and atmosphere, Red Dead Redemption is the one on this list you should delay least. If you just want something breezier and lower-commitment, the other three look more like the kind of pleasant surprise a subscription service should be good at providing. The platform handles the display. Players make the choice. What determines whether a game truly stays with you is not how long it remained in the catalog, but whether you gave it your attention before it left.
