Resident Evil: Requiem DLC leak reveals Ada and Leon return in May
Resident Evil: Requiem has moved 7 million copies worldwide since its late-February launch. Leaker Marcox and dataminers digging through the PC version's files uncovered a DLC codenamed Extraction, starring Ada Wong and Leon S. Kennedy, with a projected release window inside May 2026.

The game feels tight, and 7 million units backs that up. For the RE franchise, it's solid middle ground—though it's tracking ahead of RE4 Remake at the same point post-launch. Capcom confirmed in March that a major story DLC and a mini-game were in development. Extraction is almost certainly that story expansion. Ada paired with Leon is a safe bet.

Now for the gameplay. Leaked info points to a standalone story mode with dedicated mechanics, timeline possibly running parallel to the main campaign. This isn't a throwaway side story—it's a full second thread. If Ada's stealth systems get proper differentiation, the experience could skew more hardcore than the base game. Leon's sections will likely stay combat-forward, but hopefully not brainless spray-and-pray.

Capcom's also working on that mini-game, widely speculated to be Mercenaries mode. If it is Mercenaries, frame rate needs to lock at 60+ and input delay must stay under 50ms. RE4 Remake's Mercenaries nailed the feel—don't regress here.
One concern: May 2026 is tight. Base game dropped late February, DLC three months later—is the dev cycle long enough? Don't rush hitboxes to meet a deadline. Official confirmation is still pending. Wait for actual gameplay footage before committing. Buy it for the feel, not the story.
