Stellar Blade™Stellar Blade Blood Rain’s heroine reveal sparks face model controversy first
Stellar Blade: Blood Rain was officially announced yesterday, introducing new heroine Eve, and players quickly started trying to figure out her real-world face model. On X, one user posted short-haired photos of Korean singer IU and argued that she looks "exactly the same" as Eve, adding that IU is 33 this year. That post quickly turned into a wider argument over whether the sequel's new lead looks too youthful.
Players often start picking apart a character's face long before they know much else about the game. In this case, the IU comparison became the flashpoint. The same poster responded to complaints about Eve's seemingly childlike appearance by arguing that many Asians look younger than their actual age. From there, the argument broadened beyond simple resemblance and into questions of character design and perceived age.

The debate is no longer just about whether Eve looks like IU. It's also about whether players read the character's age the same way at first glance. Player opinion is already split. Some players said the comparison was spot-on, while others said the two look nothing alike. Personally, I can think of someone who looks even more like Eve than IU does, though I won't name names here.

For now, this looks more like a social-media flashpoint than anything that will seriously affect the game itself. Right now, all the public really has is a new heroine reveal, and the conversation is focused on who she might resemble. At minimum, the reveal has given players something concrete to argue about. Whether that matters long-term will depend on what follows: official character details, more footage, and how Eve comes across once players see more of the game.

For players, though, there's only so much to take from this right now. Whether Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is worth your attention will depend far more on later official details than on whether this face-model guess is correct. A debate like this can draw attention, but it won't tell players much about the sequel itself.

So yes, it's worth keeping an eye on. If you're already interested in Stellar Blade, the better approach is to treat Eve as a newly revealed character players are still figuring out. Wait for the official character details and gameplay footage, then judge her on that rather than on celebrity comparisons alone.
