Infinite is set for 2027, and the urban open world is finally on the way?
At today's Opening Night Live in Cologne, NetEase's Naked Rain studio showed a new trailer for Ananta and confirmed that the anime-style urban open-world game will launch on January 15, 2027. That date matters more than the trailer gloss: it turns a concept piece into something players can actually track, and it gives the game a firm place on the calendar.

Ananta puts players in the role of a top investigator codenamed Infinity Trigger, moving through a range of cities, building relationships with companions, and dealing with anomalies that do not belong on ordinary streets. It also leans into the idea of shared city life, with the promise of spending time with companions and collecting memorable moments along the way.
That is a stronger pitch than a simple combat reel, because urban games usually live or die on how convincingly they let normal life fray at the edges. If Ananta can tie its city systems, companion interactions, and anomaly-driven tension together, it may end up feeling more grounded than the average open-world gacha project.

What will decide it, though, is not how many cuts the trailer has. It is whether the cities feel dense enough to walk through, and whether the game can make you slow down instead of sprinting from marker to marker. Players who care about movement and social systems will watch the urban traversal closely, while anyone drawn to atmosphere will be looking for anomalies that feel unsettling rather than decorative.
