Lead the charge in *Gears of War: E-Day*! Xbox’s latest lineup really packs a punch
During a break from gaming with my dorm mates last night, I came across this news, and my roommate immediately said, “Looks like Xbox is finally catching up on its homework.” Honestly, this lineup really does look like someone suddenly started frantically turning in assignments right before finals week: huge volume, and a pretty complete range of genres too.
Recently, Walmart Canada Gaming officially shared a lineup of multiple upcoming first-party Xbox titles, bringing up 《Gears of War: E-Day》, 《Marvel’s Blade》, 《Halo: Campaign Evolved》, 《Forza Horizon 6》, 《Fable 4》, and 《State of Decay 3》 all at once. From shooters to racing, then to fantasy and survival, this list doesn’t look like a single-point breakthrough; it feels more like Xbox is trying to fill the classroom with players of every taste.

The hottest one here is clearly 《Gears of War: E-Day》. Player reactions in the comments were very direct, and it had the highest discussion volume by far. I’m not surprised at all. After all, this kind of hard-hitting shooter is naturally perfect for buddies to talk about together, shout together, and get hyped together. The atmosphere is as tense and lively as fighting over the last pack of instant noodles in the dorm.

And judging from this list, Xbox clearly isn’t trying to rely on just one or two flagship titles this time. 《Forza Horizon 6》 is there for racing fans, 《Halo: Campaign Evolved》 continues to hold down the classic shooter crowd, 《Fable 4》 reaches out to the fantasy RPG players, and 《State of Decay 3》 is better suited for those who like that post-apocalyptic survival flavor. Add in 《Marvel’s Blade》, and it basically grabs a spot on the superhero track as well.
If, like me, what you care about most is whether you can play with friends, then in this lineup I’d keep the closest eye on 《Gears of War: E-Day》, 《Halo: Campaign Evolved》, and 《State of Decay 3》. The reason is simple: these types of games naturally create social moments. Whether you’re coordinating side by side or blaming each other after everything goes wrong, it’s way more entertaining than quietly playing through a campaign alone. No matter how polished a single-player game is, if there’s no one to complain with, it still feels like it’s missing a bit of soul to me.

Another thing is that this wave of news itself points to a trend: Xbox first-party now seems to emphasize lineup depth more than betting everything on a single title. For platform players, that’s honestly more practical than just waiting for one masterpiece, because you won’t end up spending the whole year staring at one distant promise. Want to race today, shoot tomorrow, and enter a fantasy world the day after? At least judging from the list, the options are there.

Of course, for now, this is still lineup information shared by Walmart Canada Gaming. What’s certain is that the list has already fired up player expectations, especially with 《Gears of War: E-Day》 drawing the strongest buzz. As for how these titles will line up and release later, we’ll still have to keep watching for official follow-up moves. Anyway, judging by the vote in our dorm, as long as 《Gears of War: E-Day》 comes first, that little bit of time before evening dorm inspection is probably going to turn into another voice chat session where we laugh ourselves to death.
