"Red Desert" Patch Released: Optimization Solid but Core Gameplay Still Questionable
This update amounts to nothing more than routine maintenance. Version 1.0.1 was officially released on March 29. Five new mounts have been added, requiring specific conditions to unlock. This is merely a tactic to extend playtime.
There have been no substantial changes to the core gameplay. What players truly need is not simply more mounts. Pearl Abyss's moves this time seem overly conservative. The developers appear to have neglected the demands of core players.
Reduced loading times are a basic feature that should have been there from the start. Loading times for teleportation and resurrection have now been shortened. The equipment quenching phase no longer requires extra materials. These optimizations are indeed quite well done.
However, the overall value still warrants further discussion. The PS5 has added a fixed 4K output option. The improved visual clarity is beneficial for console players. Multiple optimizations and fixes have enhanced the overall gameplay experience.
Numerous quest, combat, and stability issues have been fixed. System stability issues have been resolved to a certain extent. A lottery event at the end offers activation code rewards. Don't let free gifts obscure the main focus.
Game quality is the only thing that truly matters. The developer, Pearl Abyss, needs to show more sincerity. Otherwise, the rate of player loss will accelerate. Community feedback remains in a wait-and-see state for now.
Competing titles have recently launched major content updates. Red Desert's update this time seems insufficient. Players are expecting new maps, not just mounts. If there continues to be a lack of substantial content, it will fail to retain players.
