Dune: Awakening Console Edition Launches September 22, 2026 — Funcom Promises "No Bare Port"
Funcom confirmed today that Dune: Awakening will arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on September 22, 2026, priced at $49.99 standard. This isn't a simple port—it's a fully integrated console experience.
The company has bundled all PC updates and optimizations from the past year into the console version, alongside substantial new content. That alone makes it more ambitious than a typical cross-platform release.
Pricing breaks down as $49.99 standard, $69.99 Deluxe, and $89.99 Ultimate, with the latter two tiers including early access. Given the scope of what's included, the numbers aren't unreasonable.
One major addition: a complete solo mode that finishes Chapter 1 with adjustable difficulty settings. Survival RPG players who prefer flying solo finally have a proper alternative to multiplayer pressure.
Performance mode targets 60 fps, with UI and controls reworked for controllers. The year-long development window suggests the team is taking console optimization seriously—though real-world performance remains untested until launch.
Day-one Xbox Game Pass integration is a clear win for subscribers. Cross-platform play and progress sharing between Xbox and Microsoft Store add further convenience.
Additional features include optional PvP, offline progress protection, and PC self-hosted servers, plus expanded maps and story content. Different player types get something meaningful here.
For survival RPG fans—especially those on handhelds or preferring solo play—this console edition is worth tracking. Game Pass subscribers get a free entry point; everyone else can wait for full reviews or grab the Ultimate edition if they want everything on day one.
