Exodus has a new release date trailer, and Archetype Entertainment has now put a firm date on the sci-fi action RPG: April 27, 2027. The game is being developed by Archetype Entertainment and published by Wizards of the Coast, with PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X versions expected in early 2027. That turns a long-running wait into something concrete.

The trailer matters less for what it shows than for what it confirms. Archetype Entertainment is staffed by former BioWare core members who worked on the Mass Effect series, so expectations around story, companion design, and worldbuilding were always going to be high. That pedigree is useful, but it is not a substitute for a finished game. Whether the characters land and the writing carries weight will only be clear once Exodus is actually in players' hands.

That is also where the real comparison pressure starts. Games with this kind of lineage are quickly judged against Mass Effect, but the deciding factors are usually sharper dialogue, stronger relationships, and a world that can sustain a long campaign.
