Lixiang 7G100 GPU launches May 20, benchmarks near RTX 4060

Lixiang Technology's 7G100 GPU launches May 20 on JD.com, marking China's third GPU maker to secure Microsoft WHQL certification. FireStrike scores hit 26,800, Steel Nomad reaches 2,268—within 2% of the RTX 4060's 2,302.

The specs carry weight. Built on 6nm process with Lixiang's proprietary TrueGPU architecture and a fully self-developed instruction set, the 7G100 operates without third-party IP licensing—genuine full-stack independence in China's GPU space. WHQL certification matters more than marketing suggests: Microsoft's Hardware Quality Labs enforce brutal compatibility standards, and passing means driver-level integration with Windows that eliminates blue screens and rendering artifacts.

Real-world performance data from Lixiang shows Black Myth: Wukong running at 1080p high settings with stable 70+ fps. For a domestic AAA title with demanding optimization requirements, that frame rate clears the fluency threshold. The actual performance delivery appears solid, though third-party reviews post-launch will reveal how it handles ray tracing workloads and 2K resolution stability.

Against the RTX 4060 in the same price bracket, the 7G100's benchmark gap stays under 2%—theoretical performance is competitive. But GPU markets never run on benchmarks alone. Driver maturity, game optimization coverage, power efficiency, after-sales infrastructure—these variables determine user experience. Whether Lixiang as a new entrant can match or exceed established players on these fronts will become clear after May 20 market feedback arrives.

Strategically, Lixiang's timing for a near-midrange performance product plays as a "technical validation + market probe" combo. WHQL certification clears the Windows ecosystem entry barrier, while Black Myth: Wukong adaptation targets domestic gamer recognition. If launch pricing lands under ¥2,000, budget-conscious players curious about domestic GPUs have a legitimate option worth watching.
