Jensen Huang to Meet Faker in Korea: Nvidia & T1 Confirm Post-Computex Talks

According to Bloter, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will head to South Korea after COMPUTEX 2026 in Taipei, and he is now coordinating a formal meeting with Faker, the legendary League of Legends player. Both Nvidia and T1 have officially confirmed that the meeting is in the works, though Nvidia says the exact time and location are still being discussed.

What makes this more than a routine celebrity crossover is the timing. In April this year, Huang gave the entire T1 roster autographed team jerseys. Faker, in turn, recorded a congratulatory video for Nvidia's GeForce Player Festival in South Korea. There has been a steady back-and-forth between the two sides for months. Now it is finally moving toward an official face-to-face meeting.

That also makes one earlier Faker comment look far less offhand than it first seemed. On a program, he said he hoped to have a meal with people like Jensen Huang and Lee Jae-yong, adding with a joke that they would probably be the ones paying. In retrospect, that line reads less like throwaway banter and more like a glimpse of where things were already heading.

At the center of it is a very clear match of interests: elite esports visibility on one side, cutting-edge computing power on the other. T1 benefits from the prestige and practical value of stronger hardware and AI ties. Nvidia gets something just as useful, direct access to one of esports' most recognizable names and the younger audience that comes with that stage. It is a neat alignment of attention and technology, and neither side has much reason to pretend otherwise.

The more interesting question is what a real conversation between Huang and Faker would even sound like. Would they be talking about technical specs, or about how players read a patch and adapt to a new version? That contrast is part of the appeal here. These are two figures with near-mythic status in their own fields, and putting them across the table from each other has a kind of pressure that most staged promotional meetings never achieve.

If the meeting does happen, the implications could reach beyond the photo-op. Hardware support for the League of Legends pro scene, AI-assisted training, and even broadcast image quality all feel like plausible areas for improvement afterward. For ordinary players, that is not necessarily bad news. When a tech heavyweight is willing to lean into esports, the industry's value only looks heavier.

As for whether Faker can actually make Huang pick up the bill, that part is still unresolved. But the joke has at least made it this far.
