Resident Evil 9 Requiem Hits 20% Off in Its First Steam Sale as Reviews Split

Capcom’s latest Resident Evil entry, Resident Evil 9 Requiem, has gone on sale for the first time on Steam, dropping from 348 yuan to 278.40 yuan at 20% off. As a first discount, it is more notable as a marker than as a bargain. The cut is modest, and the price still positions the game as a recent premium release. Players can also check sale details across major digital storefronts.

The broader Steam lineup offers a clearer picture of the sale. The list in the original piece shows Resident Evil 4 at 25% off for 49.50 yuan, a new all-time low; Resident Evil 3 at 20% for 39.60 yuan, also a new all-time low; and Resident Evil 2 at 20% for 39.60 yuan, again a new all-time low. On the Monster Hunter side, Monster Hunter Wilds is at 42% for 146.16 yuan, also a new all-time low, while Monster Hunter Rise is 39.60 yuan at 20%, and Monster Hunter: World is 38.48 yuan at 26%.

So this first discount on Resident Evil 9 Requiem lands more as a signpost than a must-buy deal. For players who want to stay current with the series and do not mind paying 278.40 yuan, there is still an obvious pull here. But for anyone shopping primarily on value, the older games make a much stronger case: Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2 are already at new all-time lows, with far lower prices and much less risk.

The split is straightforward. Buying Resident Evil 9 Requiem now means paying for novelty and being part of the current moment around the series. Buying the older Resident Evil games means betting on an established reputation at a much lower price. Those are two very different buying cases, and mixing them up is how impulse purchases happen.

Resident Evil 9 Requiem is the newest item in the sale, but not the one offering the strongest value. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 are the more established options in the lineup: cheaper, steadier, and still among the series’ most recognizable entries. The prices are already on the Steam store page; the real decision is whether you want to play now or wait for a steeper discount.
