Shueisha Games has announced that ATMOSFAR, a sky-island exploration game from Swedish studio Apog Labs, enters Early Access on May 20, 2026, via Steam and Epic Games Store. The game supports 1-4 player online co-op.

The core hook is a physics-based flight system. Players pilot four shuttle types—Swift, Hauler, Cruiser, and Assault—each with distinct handling characteristics and tactical roles. The modular mothership Cloudstrider functions like building blocks: you arrange room layouts to create a custom airborne base.

Set on the uncharted planet Taikos, gameplay blends aerial exploration, outpost construction, resource management, and ground expeditions. The official description suggests a standard survival-crafting loop: fly shuttles through cloud seas, land on floating islands to harvest materials, then return to expand your mothership. Four-player co-op amplifies efficiency through role division—one player hauls cargo in the Hauler, another escorts in the Assault, a third manages base construction.

Steam page screenshots show a realistic art direction with detailed cloud lighting. As an Early Access release, content completeness and optimization remain unverified until launch. If you enjoyed Valheim's open-world exploration plus vehicle mechanics, or Subnautica's resource loops, this warrants attention. Wait for initial player feedback before purchasing—Early Access pitfalls are common enough to justify caution.
