Gears of War: E-Day may hit PS5 after all, leaker's cryptic response suggests
Leaker NateTheHate responded to fan questions on social media today, stating he's never heard of a Switch 2 version for Gears of War: E-Day—but notably didn't deny a PS5 release when asked. Microsoft has only confirmed Xbox Series X|S and PC so far.

The response pattern matters here. NateTheHate flat-out denied Switch 2, but went silent on PS5—in leaker circles, that usually means "I know something but can't say it." Given Microsoft's platform strategy shift over the past two years, with first-party titles like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves landing on PlayStation, a Gears debut on PS5 isn't far-fetched.

From a business standpoint, the move favors Microsoft. Gears of War as a legacy IP has hit its sales ceiling on Xbox exclusivity—opening PS5 taps into 40 million potential players directly. Game Pass subscription growth has plateaued; software sales revenue is the current priority. Switch 2's performance limitations make skipping that platform logical, letting the team focus resources on optimizing the console experience.

Microsoft hasn't confirmed anything officially. But the leaker's stance, industry trends, and commercial logic all point one direction—PS players might actually get Marcus Fenix. Xbox owners shouldn't worry: an exclusivity window is guaranteed, so early access bragging rights remain intact. It's just a matter of when Microsoft announces this "open secret."
