Hideo Kojima posted a photo of himself with the OD logo on X today, quickly sparking fan speculation that a new trailer could be on the way. Combined with the set photos he shared over the past two days and Gamersky's earlier report that the project has officially entered motion capture, the new post puts OD back into focus.

The post matters less for what it says outright than for what it suggests about development. The image does not reveal a trailer date or any gameplay details, but the location is believed to be the same motion capture set previously associated with OD. That makes the update more concrete than it first appears: OD is no longer just a title and a logo, but a project actively moving through motion capture.
Gamersky reported two days ago that Hideo Kojima had shared the latest on-set photos from OD through his personal social account, while also revealing that the game had formally entered the motion capture filming phase. That tells us more than the usual vague assurance that development is progressing smoothly. On a narrative-heavy game, motion capture progress can also hint at when the next trailer might surface. That is especially true for a Kojima project, where performances and story details are usually revealed piece by piece.

The other notable thread here is the slow drip of cast teases. Over the last two days, Hideo Kojima also posted photos with Hunter Schafer and Sophia Lillis, and the original report said these actors "appear to be" motion capture performers for OD. That approach is very much in line with Kojima's usual style: hold back on gameplay details, avoid explaining the world too early, and put the people involved front and center so players can infer the project's scale, style, and tone for themselves.

As for platforms, OD is currently expected to release on PC and Xbox, though it still has no announced launch date. For now, the more useful thing to watch is not a release window, but whether the next trailer arrives and finally shows more of the game itself. Right now, the firm details are still limited to the Xbox partnership, the horror premise, the motion capture progress, and a few casting clues. Whether the final game leans toward cinematic horror or something more experimental remains unclear until official materials say more.
Compared with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, which already has a much clearer public identity, OD is still at a much earlier stage. One logo photo was enough to reignite discussion not because it revealed much. It is because Hideo Kojima remains unusually skilled at keeping a project visible with very little material. For anyone who enjoys piecing together a game's development, that drip-feed approach is already part of the OD story.
