Steam Update! CS2 Pricing More Flexible, Developers Have the Final Say
Last night my roommate and I wanted to start a new game, but got confused by the prices. These times are the most annoying; wanting to play together but getting stuck on paying. But recently there's good news; Steam tools have been upgraded. This update is quite powerful; developers finally have the final say. They say there's no more one-size-fits-all, which sounds reassuring.
Specifically, three methods are given for developers to choose from freely. Whether standard exchange rates or parity, they can be mixed flexibly. Plus, it covers 35 currencies and works across 4 regions. What's most surprising is that price adjustments require manual submission. The platform won't automatically modify them, which is quite reassuring.
There's also a rule that price hikes will trigger a cooldown period. Global discounts have a 30-day cooldown to prevent random price hikes. For us players, buying games will be more cost-effective in the future. After all, developers can set reasonable prices based on regions. Even if single-player games lack soul, I'm willing to pay if the price is right. If it's cheaper, it'll be easier to get my roommate into the game. Lol, comparing prices when buying games used to be such a hassle.
I just feel that whether we can play together is what matters most. If the price is too high and my roommate doesn't buy it, the game is no fun even if it's great. I hope this update makes prices across regions fairer and less predatory. Otherwise, calculating exchange rates every time we team up is more exhausting than playing the game. Haha, anyway, as long as we can play online, I'll accept even if it's a bit pricey. Anyway, this change is quite significant; we'll wait and see the results. As long as everyone can happily team up, this tool update is worth it.
