Qingqing from *Honor of Kings* Accused! The Esports Narrative Has Gone Out of Control

A post-match gathering is supposed to be a place where winning and losing temporarily step aside. As the lights dim, players detach from the narrative of the arena and return to being ordinary people. But on April 16, Weibo user “森林狼_3” publicly accused Chongqing Wolves Honor of Kings player Qingqing, namely Wu Jinxiang, by real name, alleging that he committed sexual harassment at a post-match gathering. What should have remained a side story outside the arena suddenly turned into a heavy public incident.
According to the person involved, the incident occurred in the early hours of October 30, 2025, at a hotel. She stated that during the gathering, Qingqing took her phone and locked her inside a hotel restroom. Inside the restroom, Qingqing was accused of removing his own clothes, forcibly making physical contact with her, and attempting to engage in sexual activity. She also said that her friends repeatedly knocked on the door to try to help, but were unable to stop the incident from continuing. From a narrative standpoint, this is not an episode that can be brushed off lightly as “drunken misconduct,” but a serious accusation centered on power, enclosed space, and failed attempts to seek help.

To support her claims, the person involved released materials including screen recordings showing mutual follows, chat records from her friends’ perspective during the period she was unreachable, the hotel address, food delivery order information, Qingqing’s WeChat account information, and post-incident audio recordings. She also responded to several questions most commonly raised by the public: as to why she did not call the police at the time, she said Qingqing had tried to comfort her afterward and that she was in shock; as to why she continued resting that night, she explained that she had drunk too much and was not fully conscious. As for why she is only speaking out now, she said she had previously considered the broader impact and therefore chose to come forward at this time, emphasizing: “I just want to see how the club will respond afterward. I still have evidence in hand, and I will not delete the post.”
From another angle, the reason this incident so quickly struck a nerve in the Honor of Kings esports community is not only because the person involved is a professional player, but also because esports has long relied on character-driven narratives to maintain a sense of closeness. On the field, players are sidelaners, cores, and the soul of the team; under the camera, they are packaged as youths, friends, and idols to whom fans can entrust their emotions. But once those real-world boundaries are accused of being crossed, the gentle fan filter that once existed falls away like a poorly made coming-of-age film, exposing rough editing marks in the final scene.

But the deeper issue is that esports clubs are no longer merely competition units. They also produce stars, traffic, and fan relationships, and therefore must bear clearer codes of conduct and response mechanisms. At present, the known facts do not mention any formal response or outcome from Chongqing Wolves, Qingqing himself, or the police. The person involved, meanwhile, said she has already gone to the police station to communicate with officers and is in the process of obtaining hotel corridor surveillance footage, and that she will provide additional evidence later. Before any conclusion is reached, what matters most is not fans rushing to write the verdict first, nor bystanders replacing evidence with emotion, but allowing the investigation, surveillance footage, recordings, and related testimony to return to their proper place.
Judging from the reaction trends within the player community, incidents like this are changing the way people watch esports: in the past, people were willing to believe that “performance on the field” could overshadow everything, but now more and more people are beginning to demand that professional players also be subject to public ethical scrutiny off camera. Whether Qingqing’s actions constitute the alleged misconduct must await further investigation and formal responses; but how the club responds, and whether the league establishes more effective post-match management and channels for seeking help, are already unavoidable questions. Unfortunately, after all these years of esports talking about passion and growth, what truly tests its maturity is often not a BO7, but whether, when the spotlight reaches the shadows, it is still willing to treat people as people.
