“Ex-Telltale devs sew binge-watching to choices that truly fork — a superbly performed, light-on-mechanics adult superhero interactive show”
評測總結
Add the dimensions up and Dispatch is a game of fierce highs and clearly drawn lows. It is not a balanced all-rounder; it is a sharp blade that only cuts one way.
The year's loudest argument for narrative games

To weigh this game you have to put it back in 2025. That year carried a grim refrain: single-player narrative games do not sell, and publishers were marking the whole category down. Into that, a small studio of ex-Telltale hands shipped a self-published, zero-microtransaction debut that rolled to four million copies, ninety-seven percent positive, a Steam Award for Outstanding Story-Rich Game, and BAFTAs for Animation and Audio.
The argument it won is bigger than the game. It showed that on a track everyone had written off, if the thing is good enough and sincere enough, players still pay and still evangelize. It handed the "interactive show" — a format Telltale itself ran into the ground — a future again; the problem was never the genre, only the execution. Which is why, even after losing Best Debut Indie to Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 at The Game Awards, it kept turning up on year-end lists, some of which named it their game of the year outright. For a first outing, that is about as clean a debut as a studio gets.
Who it is for, and who it is not
Be exact about fit. If you love the grown-up superhero cartoons of Invincible and The Boys and have always wished your choices could actually steer one, this is nearly bespoke — you will savor every cutscene, every fork, every teammate's arc.
If you came for hardcore strategic depth, long-haul build crafting, or a hundred hours of endurance, it will let you down. The dispatch ceiling is low, the main story barely clears eight hours, and the late hacking and QTEs are dead weight even the developers' own fans admit to. That is not a failure of execution; it is simply not the game it set out to be.
So decide before you buy what you actually want: a great show you participate in through choices, or a meaty system that happens to carry a plot. The mismatch only ever hurts when a player walks in expecting the second and finds the first — every one-star outlier in an ocean of praise reads like someone who wanted a strategy game and got a screenplay. Go in knowing it is a story you steer, not a machine you master, and the eight hours land near flawless. It is a blade with a clear direction — swing it the way it was forged and it cuts like nothing else.
What cannot be copied
So, the core question: what is hardest to reproduce here? Not the visuals, not the cast, not even the script alone, but the way all three — plus a set of choices that genuinely fork — are sewn onto one dispatch board into a single feel.
Ex-Telltale devs carried the muscle memory of the old formula and dodged every one of its pits, and the result is an experience where you are at once bingeing a Hollywood-grade adult superhero cartoon and truly rewriting it with your own calls. Nobody else has that. Plenty of games do one of those things well; almost none fuse all of them onto a single board where your idle-hands busywork between scenes is also the lever that recasts the drama.
Its nearest rival, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, beat it for hardware on the awards stage, but that is a turn-based RPG answering a different hunger; the player who wants a superhero show they can bend gets nothing from it. The two are not competitors so much as proof that 2025 had room for more than one narrative triumph. A composite 8.4 lands it exactly where it belongs: a stellar-performed, light-on-mechanics adult superhero interactive show whose overall charm is genuinely hard to replace, dragged down a notch only by systems it never cared to perfect.
