10 Flash Deals, With Outer Wilds Getting an Extra Discount

Today, the Gamersky app launched its "Today Flash Sale" event, spotlighting ten limited-time discounted games across different styles, including Outer Wilds and Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. At the same time, the app's store has officially added a coin deduction feature for game purchases, letting users stack extra savings on top of existing discounts.

The simple verdict: this is a good sale to browse with a dorm group. Single-player games are not the problem. The better question is whether a game gives people something to talk about. Outer Wilds is not a co-op game, but it is almost designed for careful half-spoilers from friends hovering near the screen. Played alone, it is exploration. With four people watching, it becomes a club activity.

The lineup is also deliberately varied. Kingdom Two Crowns has "Two Crowns" in the name, which already makes it easy to pitch as a roommate game. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 needs even less explanation. Every dorm has someone ready to call themselves a Saiyan. Losing is fine. The real main event is the trash talk afterward.

The most intimidating and most tempting pick is still Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous. Based on the Paizo tabletop RPG, it offers 25 classes, 12 races, more than 1,000 spells, and 9 Mythic Paths. That sounds like a course registration system set to nightmare mode, but players who enjoy build crafting can lose themselves in it. If one person in the dorm buys it, the argument over which build looks coolest could last all night.

Then there is Code Vein, a hardcore action RPG developed by Bandai Namco. "Hardcore" is a dangerous word for players with poor reflexes, especially students looking for something relaxing after class. But the experience changes when other people are watching. Getting launched across the room by a monster hurts less when the entire dorm is laughing with you.

Xuan-Yuan Sword: The Gate of Firmament is also worth a look for returning series fans. It is the twelfth mainline entry in the Xuan-Yuan Sword series, with its story set during the Shang dynasty. This is less of a noisy group game and more something to work through slowly after evening study. If a roommate knows the series too, though, the setting and lore give you plenty to discuss.

The buying advice is straightforward. If your dorm needs something everyone can laugh at, start with games that are easy to watch, argue over, or commentate from the side. If you want a long-term project, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous has the content depth to keep people busy. Since Gamersky now says game purchases support coin deductions, do not rush in at the raw sticker price. For students, the money saved can still become a late-night snack.
