Crimson Desert Hits 81% as Pearl Abyss Takes Off
Pearl Abyss disclosed in its Q1 2026 financial report that Crimson Desert generated 2665 hundred million KRW, or 266.5 billion KRW, in a single quarter, accounting for 81% of the company's total revenue. The same report lists 328.5 billion KRW in sales, 212.1 billion KRW in operating profit, and 170 billion KRW in net profit, with sales, operating profit, and net profit all rising sharply or returning to profit both year over year and quarter over quarter.
This is not a seasonal bump from an older live-service title. It is a structural shift led by one new release. Pearl Abyss said its results reached record highs thanks to the global success of Crimson Desert, and set against these numbers, that line does not feel inflated.

The platform split is the most interesting part. Revenue from the console and PC versions of Crimson Desert was evenly divided at 50% each, which is a meaningful signal for a new game. Plenty of releases break out first on PC while consoles build slowly, or hold steady on console while their PC reputation wobbles. Here, both sides are moving at once, suggesting Pearl Abyss found a fairly accurate launch rhythm and player reach.
The Steam rating also matters. Crimson Desert has maintained a Very Positive rating on Steam, which at least shows the PC version was not immediately crushed by technical issues among its first wave of players.

The overseas split is even clearer. International sales accounted for 94% of revenue, while North America and Europe combined made up 81%. That is the market Pearl Abyss truly won this quarter.
Korean studios have often been tagged as strong in MMOs but less proven in single-player games. This time, Crimson Desert has used the company's self-developed BlackSpace engine and continued optimization to move the conversation from whether Pearl Abyss could make this kind of game to how far it can sell. For action and open-world players, visual spectacle is only the opening argument. Long-term optimization and content pacing will decide whether the game keeps its footing.

The buying advice is straightforward. If you mainly play on PC, check your own hardware and recent Steam reviews before jumping in. If you play on console, the 50% revenue share shows this is not a secondary version, so it deserves closer attention.
As for Black Desert, it still contributed 616 hundred million KRW, or 61.6 billion KRW, and its various versions continue to run steadily through anniversary events and content updates. But the spotlight has clearly shifted. Pearl Abyss did not merely post a small quarterly win; it used one new game to reshape the company's entire revenue picture.
