Into the Depths launches in August as PixARK heads underground এবার
Ark: Underground Labyrinth now has a live Steam store page, and the DLC is confirmed to launch this August. Based on the official description, it is being positioned as one of the biggest content expansions since Ark launched, shifting the focus from the skies and surface continents to a more mysterious underground world.
After 120 hours with the base game, I still had the habit of circling back whenever even a sliver of the map remained uncovered. So the most interesting thing about Underground Labyrinth is not just the size of the new area. It is that the team finally seems ready to expand the part of Ark that needed it most: vertical depth. Instead of stretching content outward across another horizontal sandbox, this DLC is built around descending layer by layer, with a more structured sense of progression.

From what has been shown so far, the developers are not just remixing surface assets and moving them underground. The stated goal is a more continuous, layered style of exploration, which is the key detail here. It suggests Ark: Underground Labyrinth will connect multiple subterranean environments into a single escalating adventure path, where players descend through increasingly dangerous ecosystems and gradually uncover the secrets buried in the planet's depths. For players who enjoy collecting, survival, and clearing the map, that structure is more compelling than a handful of disconnected zones.

The official description also says that over the next few weeks, the team will continue revealing more about the map's ecology, new creatures, gameplay systems, and story background. That makes this feel more like a release-window announcement and a statement of intent than a full demonstration of what the DLC can actually deliver. Its claim to being one of the game's biggest expansions will stand or fall on those later details, especially when it comes to the new creatures and mechanics. If those additions amount to little more than reskinned enemies and adjusted resource placement, interest could cool quickly. But if the underground setting, taming logic, and resource loop are meaningfully tied together, this DLC could create the kind of progression that keeps players digging one layer deeper.
