As night had just fallen, the neon lights cast a warm glow around the edge of the gas station. The shelves, pumps, and parking spaces all looked neat and polished, as if they had just been wiped down. For someone like me with a screenshot obsession, a scene like this is dangerous: when passing by, I’ll stop first, rotate the camera, find an angle where the headlights and sign fit perfectly into the frame, and only then decide whether to keep playing. My first impression of Galaxy Gas Station was a kind of light, effortless busyness: the place isn’t big, but it instantly makes you want to “move in.”

Since launching in Early Access on Steam during this year’s Spring Festival, this multiplayer co-op business simulation game has performed well in the global market. Up to four players can run this “Galaxy Gas Station” together. On the surface, it’s about pumping gas, selling goods, and expanding the store, but underneath is a setting that’s both a little absurd and a little adorable—you’re actually alien visitors, running a business while secretly studying humans, gathering intelligence, and upgrading hidden technology. If your suspicious behavior draws too much attention, a mysterious special agent may come to investigate, and your entrepreneurial dream could be snuffed out on the spot.

Back to the game itself: the first monthly update on March 19 was a very clear step toward making the game “more manageable for solo play.” It focused on just three things: self-checkout counters, automatic gas pumps, and robot vacuums. These aren’t flashy decorations—they directly address some of the most hectic pain points in management games. The self-checkout counters ease queue pressure in the convenience store’s core area, the automatic gas pumps cover the awkward situation when the player is stuck inside the store and can’t deal with what’s happening outside, and the robot vacuums take over repetitive little chores like cleaning.

This update also supports further store expansion and adds more customizable decorations and products. For players who enjoy tinkering with spatial atmosphere, this part may be even more appealing than the “efficiency boost.” After all, by the later stages of a simulation management game, how much money you make is one thing—whether you can turn your little shop into a glowing island by the roadside late at night is another.

But beyond the visuals, what interests me more is the game’s community vibe. The in-game custom mask system has already become an important way for players to show off their creativity, and the community is full of works with strong personal style. It feels like walking into a midnight costume party, where everyone is doing business in strange faces, yet somehow it all feels perfectly harmonious.

If you usually play solo and enjoy seeing a management loop run more and more smoothly, this monthly update is well worth your attention. If you care more about creating chaos with friends, its original multiplayer fun is still very much intact. At this stage, Galaxy Gas Station is still being sold as a Steam Early Access title, so it feels more like a small shop that’s still constantly adding lights, expanding, and adjusting its stock. The good news is that the newly added automation devices have already given the shop’s daily operations a more relaxed rhythm. It’s still busy—but at least now it’s no longer chaotic.
