Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition

This is a "hardcore game designed for hardcore players." If you enjoy old-school CRPGs like Baldur's Gate and Planescape: Torment, if you're willing to spend time studying rules, planning builds, and repeatedly reading quest logs, then this game is worth investing 100+ hours into.

But if you just want a casual story experience, or if you have no patience for complex systems, this game will drive you crazy. The character creation screen alone will turn away half of new players, and the combat system's learning curve will turn away the other half. This isn't a flaw in the game—it was never intended to please everyone.

The biggest problem is the UI design. Inventory management feels like working in Excel, the crafting interface is hidden deeper than a secret boss, and the skill tree requires scrolling horizontally across three screens to see it all. Can you accept a 2021 game still using nested menus within nested menus? I can't, but I put up with it.

Is it worth buying? If you're a Pathfinder tabletop player, this is a must-have digital version. If you're a CRPG enthusiast, it's worth picking up on sale. If you just want to "give it a try," I suggest playing the predecessor Kingmaker first—it's cheaper and will let you know whether this style is for you.
