Bunny Garden 2 Scores 10/10 From MP1st and 9 From IGN, But Hold Your Hype

The review embargo for The Blood of Dawnwalker lifted on September 1, and the early numbers look almost too clean: GamerSky reports that mp1st gave the action RPG a 10/10, while IGN scored it 9/10. With the game releasing on September 3, that kind of press usually makes day-one sound safe.

Embargo scores are a starting point, not a buying signal. I've seen too many titles arrive with glowing press scores and angry user reviews, followed by day-one patches that kept coming for three solid days. Final Fantasy XIII reviewed well enough at launch, but playing it revealed a combat and narrative rhythm that didn't work for everyone. A 9 or a 10 today only proves the build sent to critics wasn't a disaster; it does not prove the public release is worth full price on day one.

Still, a 9 from IGN and a perfect 10 from mp1st are not scores either outlet hands out lightly. mp1st's review is particularly full-throated: "The Blood of Dawnwalker defies our expectations with a compelling story and a combat system that matches it, making it a must-play for action RPG fans." What stands out more than the perfect score is the claim that "your choices genuinely affect the narrative as promised." If the branching actually changes story direction rather than swapping a few lines of dialogue, then this is at least not another reskinned ARPG.

The downside list is not buried in a footnote. Minor technical issues plus a time-consuming mechanic that occasionally frustrates — that pairing sounds familiar. It brings to mind The Evil Within's launch optimization problems, which were not minor by any measure. In 2026, calling technical issues "minor" already feels generous. And if the time mechanic pushes me to rush through the story rather than live inside it, how much immersion is actually left?

Trust the scores — just don't stop there. After the September 3 launch, wait for detailed player feedback — the long posts, not the day-one memes — before spending money. If the story and combat hold up the way the reviews claim, I'll happily add "no flop this time" to the record. If the time mechanic turns people away, I'll consider it money saved.
