GameSir says its Stargazer controller and the The King of Fighters XV Mai Shiranui Collector's Edition Stargazer controller are now on sale across major e-commerce platforms. According to the original announcement, the two models launch at 179 yuan and 206 yuan, support PC, Steam, Switch, and Android, and can wake NS1 and NS2 with one button. The headline feature is clear enough: the Stargazer is GameSir's first controller with a built-in screen.

The standout feature is the press-in smart color display. It supports on-screen parameter adjustment, status viewing, and static wallpaper display. Instead of burying core settings in software menus, it puts them directly on the pad itself. That feels more useful than flashy.

This software interface offers customizable screen controls, static wallpaper options, and real-time display status for gaming, with a 250Hz refresh rate setting and a "Viewer OS" mode.

The Stargazer has more going for it than the screen alone. It uses a physical button design that, according to the official pitch, delivers more precise operation and clearer feedback. The sticks are custom adjustable-damping Hall effect units with damping from 30 to 80gf, stepless direct twist adjustment, and a rated lifespan of 5 million cycles. That kind of tunability is more compelling than a spec-sheet brag on its own.

The more targeted features are in the triggers and D-pad. The dual-mode triggers switch between Hall linear and micro-switch input, so they can be tuned for different kinds of games. The mechanical D-pad was fine-tuned by Zeng Zhuojun, better known as Xiao Hai, with the goal of keeping diagonal inputs clean in fighting games. If you play The King of Fighters XV, or still dip into older 2D fighters now and then, that matters more than cosmetic extras.

The controller features a micro-trigger designed for rapid response, allowing players to gain the upper hand by firing first in gameplay.

On paper, the performance numbers are solid. The controller supports 1000Hz polling in both wired and wireless modes, with wired button latency of ≤2.1ms and wired stick latency of ≤2.8ms. It also includes Xbox-grade asymmetric vibration motors and high-precision six-axis motion control. Add tri-mode connectivity, 4 onboard profiles with one-button switching, 2 programmable rear macro buttons, 12-step recording, and 14-button turbo, and the 179 yuan version looks aggressively priced.

The collector's edition leans hard into Mai Shiranui's visual identity. Jointly launched by GameSir, Migu Games, and GAMEPOCH, the The King of Fighters XV Mai Shiranui Collector's Edition Stargazer controller uses a translucent red-to-gold gradient finish, flame patterns, fan-and-butterfly elements, and tassel-style detailing. This is more than a simple recolor. The smart color display can also show Xiao Hai's exclusive animated signature, and GameSir is including a Xiao Hai champion collector card featuring highlights and classic moments from his career.

Features an immersion engine designed to enhance gaming experience with instant-on/off vibration, offering 5 adjustable intensity levels for crisp, layered haptic feedback.

GameSir, Migu Games, and GAMEPOCH are also running a The King of Fighters XV fan cloud challenge month tie-in. Still, the current announcement leaves out some of the details that matter most in long-term use, including weight, battery life, and the grip finish. For a controller, those are often what separate good specs from a controller that actually holds up. So at this stage, this feels like a promising new release that still needs more hands-on verification, not an instant classic.

If your main use case is indie action games, Metroidvanias, or fighting games like The King of Fighters XV on Steam, the 179 yuan standard model looks like the sweet spot. It appears feature-complete, and the value proposition is easier to justify. If you are already a Mai Shiranui fan or like collecting crossover hardware, the 206 yuan Collector's Edition does not seem overpriced, at least not in the usual shallow reskin sense. The most interesting part is not the feature list itself, but that it is genuinely trying to build playability into the hardware itself. That part is worth watching.

The screen is the real hook for me, but I'd still want to see how the Hall sticks and triggers hold up before paying extra for the Mai edition.

206 yuan seems fair if the mechanical D-pad is actually tuned for fighters, and the Hall-effect sticks plus PC/Switch/Android support make it more than just a Mai skin.

Good point, cross-platform support does help justify it, and the one-button wake for NS1 and NS2 is the kind of small convenience I notice more than the built-in screen.
