Sonic Racing CrossWorlds Season Pass 2 Is Here, with Godzilla First

Sega has confirmed that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will release Season Pass 2 in fall 2026. The pass includes 6 new DLC packs, with the first crossover tied to Godzilla and the second to Evangelion. In the meantime, the current Season Pass is still rolling out: the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack arrives in July, and the Avatar Legends Pack follows in October for the game’s existing PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) versions.

That lineup makes Sega’s crossover plans much clearer. What first looked like a Sonic-led cartoon racer is now making room for Godzilla on the track and Evangelion next in line, giving the project a much broader crossover identity. More importantly, Sega has already confirmed that Season Pass 2 includes 6 all-new DLC packs, so this is clearly not a one-off stunt. It suggests Sega is treating crossover DLC as a long-term pillar rather than a novelty.

The nearer-term packs are substantial too. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pack coming in July adds Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo as playable racers, along with a new vehicle, track, and music. Then in October, the Avatar Legends Pack brings in Aang and Korra, again paired with a new vehicle, a new course, and additional music built around that series’ world. That makes each crossover feel more like a full themed expansion than a simple character add-on.

What stands out most about Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, though, is not just the growing guest roster. The base game already has a solid feature set. Built by Sega’s racing game team, it supports cross-platform online play, and its World Match mode allows up to 12 players in a single race. On top of that, the game brings together the series’ largest roster yet with 50 racers, while paid and free DLC has already brought in crossover content from Hatsune Miku, JOKER, Ichiban Kasuga, Minecraft, SpongeBob SquarePants, PAC-MAN, and Mega Man. Players can also mix and match from more than 70 customization parts.

If you have not jumped in yet, the free demo is the best place to start. The demo has now been updated and adds the vehicle Ultimate Skateboard. It lets players try Grand Prix and Time Trial, while also allowing vehicle and accessory customization. More importantly, save data carries over to the full game, so your progress is not lost. One caveat: this demo update is only available on PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and Epic Games, even though the demo itself can also be downloaded on Nintendo Switch.

If local multiplayer matters more to you, the Nintendo Switch version has a very clear edge: it is the only version that supports up to 8 players in offline local play, which gives it a real edge for couch multiplayer. Its save data can also carry over to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, whose digital version launches on December 4, 2025, followed by the physical version on March 26, 2026. More broadly, this no longer feels like a racer relying only on the Sonic name. It is steadily becoming a broader crossover racing platform. If your priorities are character variety, cross-platform multiplayer, and lively, constantly changing track content, the key dates to watch are July, October, and fall 2026. Also worth keeping in mind: the main game launched on September 25, 2025 for PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with the PC release on Steam and Epic Games Store following on September 26, 2025.
