Atomic Heart TV series in development with Rebellion producing

Two Brothers Pictures has secured the film and television rights to Atomfall, with Fleabag writers Harry Williams and Jack Williams attached as screenwriters and executive producers. Rebellion founders Jason Kingsley and Chris Kingsley will participate in production.

This gets a 6 out of 10. Game adaptations fail more often than they succeed, but at least the developers are staying involved. The Williams brothers wrote Fleabag—they understand narrative structure. Jason and Chris Kingsley from Rebellion will be on board, so this isn't a license-and-forget deal.

Atomfall launched March 27, 2025 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, with day-one Game Pass availability. IGN scored it an 8, saying it blends Fallout with Elden Ring. The speed of this adaptation announcement suggests the publisher saw promising numbers.

The real risk is screenwriters who don't understand games. Two Brothers says they want to "expand this strange and unsettling story," which sounds vague. What matters is whether they can translate the game's post-apocalyptic atmosphere to screen. The Fallout series proved there's an audience for wasteland settings, but every game has its own tone.

No cast, platform, or release date announced yet. This is just a greenlight—actual production is far off. Fans can be hopeful, but keep expectations in check. These days, if 3 out of 10 game adaptations don't butcher the source material, that's a win.
