FAQ

Common questions
How do alerts trigger? Do they track Steam or the low shop price?
Alerts track the lowest eligible offer in your selected region across Steam, ITAD and directly connected stores, and trigger at or below your target. Expired, out-of-stock, unsafe-to-convert or explicitly unavailable offers are excluded. If regional availability is assumed, the email asks you to confirm restrictions. Each source-specific price cycle sends at most one alert.
Why is sign-in required?
Signing in associates wishlist lookups, alert settings and the recipient email with your account. Both connected-Steam and public-profile lookups require sign-in. Alerts go only to your registered email address.
How can I make a private wishlist accessible?
In Steam, open Edit Profile → Privacy Settings and check that 'Game details' is Public. Follow the guide on this page, then repeat the lookup after the setting takes effect.
Do I need to give my Steam password?
No. Authentication takes place on Steam's official OpenID page. GameGeeker does not receive your Steam password, only your SteamID and public information. You can unlink at any time. Profile-link lookups also use public data only.
What's a realistic target price?
Choose a target based on your budget and the current low shown in the dialog. For past price patterns, use the separate Steam Price History tool and check its region and edition scope. You can change your target anytime.
When will I receive alert emails?
Alerts are sent when the lowest eligible regional offer is at or below your target. At most one alert is sent per price cycle for each price source. Turn off an alert in the list or use the unsubscribe link in its email.
