FINAL FANTASY XVI The Rising Tide コメント

制作スタッフ
“Action-focused RPG delivering a fifty-hour narrative spectacle with massive summon battles, though shallow progression mechanics limit long-term combat engagement.”
編集部の総評
Final Fantasy XVI is a bold transformation. It abandons the traditional JRPG turn-based and character development systems, fully embracing action game real-time combat. This choice will make old fans uncomfortable, but it also gives the series new possibilities.
Is it worth spending 50 hours? If you're here for the story, absolutely. Clive's story deserves the word "epic," and the supporting characters are well-developed enough. If you're a hardcore action game player, you might find the combat system lacks depth—it's more like "an RPG with action elements" rather than "an action game with RPG elements."
The game's biggest problem is its unclear positioning. It wants to be an action game but lacks depth, wants to be an RPG but oversimplifies the character development system. But the flaws don't overshadow its merits—the 50-hour story experience alone is worth the price of admission.
When I put down the controller, I was reminded of how I felt after finishing The Witcher 3—not "finally done," but "I wish I could walk with them a bit longer." This kind of emotional resonance is more precious than any technical metric.
