Control: Resonance Announced with Remedy's First Chinese Language Dub

Remedy Entertainment dropped a new trailer for Control: Resonance at the 2026 Tencent Games Conference, confirming the sequel to the award-winning Control will include full Chinese voice acting support—a first for the Finnish studio.

Players will explore a corrupted Manhattan alongside protagonist Dylan, facing new supernatural threats including the chaotic Hiss and invasive microbial mold. The narrative centers on uncovering the Federal Bureau of Control's core secrets while guiding Dylan to reshape his identity—a framework that blends Her Story-style investigation with psychological horror.

The Chinese voice acting announcement signals Remedy's growing commitment to the Chinese market. The original Control accumulated a substantial core player base through Steam sales, and this localization push suggests the studio is targeting a broader audience for a narrative-driven experience. For supernatural thriller titles, voice performance directly impacts immersion, so the quality of that Chinese dub will be worth scrutinizing once playable footage emerges.

From what the trailer reveals, the plot structure appears designed to dig into factional motivations and buried truths about the Bureau—territory Remedy has mined before during its Alan Wake era. The developer has always excelled at weaving fragmented clues into environmental storytelling. The real question is whether Control: Resonance will integrate its gameplay mechanics more tightly with narrative hooks, avoiding the scattered sidequest problem that sometimes diluted the first game's pacing.

The trailer carries substantial information density. Chinese voice support represents a genuine upgrade for domestic players, and the ambitious scope of the sequel—with its corrupted cityscape, identity-focused protagonist arc, and Bureau conspiracy—is clear. The next concrete checkpoint: when Remedy releases a full gameplay demo, and what the Chinese voice cast actually sounds like in action.
